The Healing Service happens once a quarter. In this service we worship our Lord for all His blessings that we have received and are still receiving. We give thanks to God in the forms of testimonies,or a message from one of the team members, or even a meditation. We then ask our congregants to come forward for prayer and allow the Holy Spirit to do His work- we are only the facilitators. We give God all the glory and all the honour. We move in the power of the Holy Spirit during the worship- we enter into His presence of the Holy Spirit, it is a very non threatening service- we want everyone to feel comfortable - no pressure and to just enjoy the presence of the Holy Spirit. My prayer is that everyone who attends - has had a very precious and special touch from the Lord. We are the hands and feet of our Lord Jesus Christ- we are there to serve and I pray that you are blessed in these services.

In your Service

Daryl-Ann Fleetwood.

We have to say first of all - a very big thank you to everyone who gave so generously in December. The Christmas food parcels were awesome. We pack groceries for our needy families every month  - we have 18 at present on our books  and we are dependant - firstly on the grace of God and secondly -  on the generosity of our congregation. I just want to say - a very big thank you to Cathy Ryder - who took over the reigns from Linda Larsen a year ago - and has done an awesome job. She has stepped down - and Dodo Pilkington has stepped in to take over the task of buying the groceries every month - welcome Dodo - and thank you for your willingness to help in this ministry.

This garden belongs to you all.  A place where you can visit for a quiet time away from the hussle and bussle of your busy life. If you want to bury your loved one's ashes or put up a plaque, please phone Viv Giles on 082 613 1653.

To all who love gardening, you are most welcome to come and share the load by helping to water, weed or sweep.  Many hands make light work.

Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46.10

Our Counselling Ministry draws its inspiration from 1 Thessalonians 5:14, calling those who are able; to reach out, listen, come alongside, guide and encourage those who are disheartened and in need. The Counsellors at Brackenhurst Methodist Church (BMC) is an empathic, hardworking, dedicated group of volunteers that is answering the call by being committed to 1 Thessalonians 5:14.

All the Counsellors have undergone basic training and their love for people are evident in their willingness to stay up to date with new techniques and information, by attending workshops and courses presented by renowned and well-established institutions, throughout the year.

At BMC we pride ourselves on a well-structured and professional Counselling Ministry. The team is bound by rules and regulations and are following a strict code of ethics as stipulated by a South African Institution for Counsellors.

Our (A)-Team, consisting of Counsellors; Hillary, Denise and Gerdus; together with our Honorary Counsellors; Lowina and Carol; as well as our Advisor; Debby; are prayerfully guided by Pastoral Care Leader; Rev. Ina Guy and Ministry Leader; Annelie Schonken.

The (A)-Team: Using gifts given by the Holy Spirit + Answering God’s call = Doing God’s work

We are happy to announce that Denise is also our resident Life Coach. Guiding clients into the right direction, inspiring them to focus on the future by setting goals so that they can realise their vision.

God bless !!

It may be hard for you to feel optimistic about the future right now.  If you have lost a spouse, child, family member, or friend, you have probably found there not to many people who understand the deep hurt you feel.  This can be a confusing time when you feel isolated and have many questions about things you have never faced before

GriefShare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life's most difficult experiences.

We meet weekly to help you face these challenges and move towards rebuilding you life.  Each GriefShare session has three distinct elements:

1.  Video seminar with experts

2.  Support group discussions with focus

3. Personal study & reflection

GriefShare seminars and support groups are lead by people who understand what you are going through and want to help you move from mourning to joy.

Brackenhurst Methodist Church's GriefShare Support Group meet on Saturdays in the Coffee Shop from 14h00-16h00.
